We will celebrate our city's anniversary together from the end of November 2025 to the end of November 2026. From Haven to Hout, from Buiten to Poort. With stories, encounters, creativity and initiatives by Almereans themselves. On this page you will find everything that is planned for the jubilee year. So keep a close eye on this page!

Almere 50 Fund

Many of these activities and initiatives were made possible for a contribution from the Almere 50 Fund, which was made available by the Municipality of Almere.

Much of the content on this page has been made possible by Stadsarchief Almere, where you will find more than 50 years of Almere's history. Tens of thousands of documents, books, building records, photos and audio-visual material are available here.

Almere 50 in your pocket

Because there is so much to experience in the jubilee year Almere 50, there is now a handy Z-card: a compact and clear mini-brochure with a selection of anniversary activities and initiatives.

The map will be distributed at various locations in Almere and is available free of charge from Tourist Information Almere.

House of Haven museum

Step back in time with this special project in Almere Haven: House of Haven shows how the very first residents of Almere furnished their new city in the 1970s. In this authentically decorated house at Schoolwerf 68, you will experience daily life back then. You will discover stories, objects and memories from Almere's pioneering days.

Back in time

The origins of Almere are quite unique. About 65 years ago, in fact, there was only water here, the Zuiderzee. And 50 years ago, the first residents received the keys to their homes, like the De Clerk family (see photo from Stadsarchief Almere). Curious about the whole story?

Almere 50 toolkit

From the end of November 2025 to the end of November 2026, we will celebrate our city's 50th anniversary, using our own style to make the whole city see and feel that it is a year-long celebration. This toolkit includes the anniversary logo and examples of how to use it. We invite everyone to use the logo, so that together we ensure that Almere 50 is recognisable and festively visible throughout the city. To make (and keep) the anniversary year a success for everyone, we ask you to always coordinate production with Almere City Marketing. You can have your designs 'approved' by emailing them to info@almere-citymarketing.nl (please mention toolkit). There is also an order list from Multicopy with existing merchandise. Fill in this list and mail it to almere@mcflevo.nl. Any questions? Then feel free to contact us on 036-5485048.
