50 Faces, 50 Poems

In honour of 50 years of Almere, the collection "50 Faces, 50 Poems" will be published. Fifty Almere rappers bring their stories to life in poetry, in which hip-hop and Almere grow up together. The powerful, rhythmic lyrics are an ode to the city and its inhabitants.

Each poem tells a personal story from Almere's various neighbourhoods. This creates a colourful mosaic of experiences, dreams and memories - all written by Almereans themselves.

Accessible for everyone

The collection will be available for free reading in all Almere libraries and will be given a prominent place there. The poems will be published weekly in Almere DEZE WEEK, so that everyone can enjoy the stories and the power of language in our city.

Cultural heritage

This collection captures a new piece of cultural heritage, for now and future generations. The project shows how rich and diverse Almere's word art is, and how language connects people.
