50 years of funfair fun in Almere: dive into the past during the Almeerse Kermis

This anniversary year is not just about rides, oliebollen and a night out, it is also a chance to look back. Scattered across the fairground are large canvases with historical photos, straight from the Stadsarchief Almere. Images that show what the fair looked like five, 10, 20 years ago.

You see nostalgic attractions that are long gone, old stalls, and visitors from very different times, but with exactly the same joy on their faces. It's those photos that make you stop and think for a moment. Do you still recognise that old merry-go-round? Or the Circus?

Between the latest rides and the smell of poffertjes, the funfair thus gains an extra layer. Not as a museum piece, but simply, in the middle of everything. The history of Almere literally on the funfair itself.
