Topsportcentrum Almere
The Topsportcentrum stands like a rock in Almere Poort, and aimed to contribute to the thematisation of the neighbourhood. Originally, the idea was to characterise the area with the theme of sports and leisure. Later, this idea was abandoned but by then the Top Sports Hall stood in the sandy plain as a solitary icon. Impressive sports photos have been projected onto the black walls of the building and depicted by means of white and blue tiles, like pixels on a screen. This creates the image as if they were snapshots from an exciting reportage. The Topsportcentrum also houses two sports halls, changing rooms, a facilities room and a café.
Paint It Red!
The apartment complex Paint it Red! gives colour to the neighbourhood like a 'lego building'. It is a striking, triangular, bright red apartment complex in Almere Poort. The apartment complex consists of five layers containing 22 flats for starters. Because the stairwell and bicycle storage are placed on the inside, it created space for balconies that could be placed on a wall one above the other. It is certainly a striking building to live in!

DUIN
Almost everywhere in Almere has greenery but for DUIN they had a very different plan in mind. It involves a dune landscape interspersed with woods, creeks and a park. Duin is a residential, working and recreational area on the IJmeer with a unique living environment. It is a neighbourhood where the quality consists of living by the water, in the dunes. In the centre of the district there will be flats with a view over the water and in the woods single-family houses with a garden or terrace.

Heat Transfer Station (WOS)
The mysterious bright red building near the IJmeerdijk, is reminiscent of a huge red beast. It is the largest Warmte Overdracht Station(WOS) in the Netherlands and can be found in Almere Poort. This Warmte Overdracht Station is managed by Nuon and has a pipeline of over eight kilometres laid through the IJmeer to reach the station from the power station in Diemen. The WOS supplies 11,000 homes and businesses with comfortable and environmentally friendly district heat. Nuon and the municipality of Almere wanted a special look and so, in collaboration with an architect, this unusual structure was created. A structure with a strange shape, a bright red colour and on the red, almost luminous plate parts you can see black splashes!

International School Almere
The building of International School Almere is an elongated secondary school building. What stands out is that on the roof of the building you can see the sports cage of the school's sports field. The area of the building is about fifty by eighty metres. The roof of the first floor is largely occupied by the schoolyard and a basketball court. The architects adapted the building with the idea that the school is a world unto itself. Besides learning, there is plenty of space for meeting and sports in a homely atmosphere.

Klokhuis
To mark the 25th anniversary of the programme Het Klokhuis, children submitted ideas for the design of their dream house. The result is the pink building that looks like a happy cake. What stood out was that the children were particularly concerned with issues such as climate, environment and sustainability. The Klokhuis eventually found a place in the Cascadepark in Almere Poort and serves as an educational centre for children on building, living and healthy living.
