Cycling is great in Almere and the many paved cycle paths mean there is a huge route network for cyclists. Do you love nature, architecture or want to get to know different nature reserves in Almere? The cycling routes in Almere are very diverse and will show you all this. Test out all the routes so you can show everyone the most beautiful places in Almere.

You can decide your own route and mileage, but to make it a bit easier, we have mapped out a number of different cycling routes.

Noorderplassen route (19.1 km)
De Noorderplassen route is a watery route to feast your eyes on! Along the Markermeer and right through de Noorderplassen and Lepelaarplassen nature reserve. Great for skating too!

 

Cycle route City Waves - Almere Poort (20.2 km)
The City Waves cycling route leads you from IJmeerdijk, along the beach and back to the water via the residential areas. With several stops and highlights, this is definitely not a boring route.

Oostvaardersplassen round trip (32.1 km)
Discover the Oostvaarderplassen from your bike with the Oostvaardersplassen route. Starting from the Nature Experience Centre, you will discover the beautiful nature in and around the nature reserve.

The Almere Nature Route (41.2 km)
As the name Natuurroute suggests, this is a route straight through nature. You cycle via Nobelhorst and Almere Hout to Almere Buiten and end up in town. Or the other way round, of course!

24 hours in Almere cycle route (24.3 km)

Architecture route (56.3 km)
The architecture route is a route along Almere's most beautiful buildings. Thus, you cycle through the Regenboogbuurt past 'De Fantasie' and 'De realiteit'. And you will discover the most impressive architecture in Almere Centrum.
