Hiking in Almere

Want an adventurous day out in Almere? But have no idea where you should start? Not to worry, in Almere you can walk the most beautiful routes. Go right through residential areas with modern architecture, along paths in green nature reserves or along vast waters, there is something for everyone!

City Walk
With a City Walk, you walk through the most special parts of the city with a guide. The guides are knowledgeable and will tell you everything you want to know. There are 5 different walks you can take part in, such as: City Walk Almere Centrum, City Walk Filmwijk, City Walk Regenboogbuurt, City Walk Almere Haven and City Walk Almere Poort.

Stadslandgoed de Kemphaan
Stadslandgoedde Kemphaan is located in Boswachterij Almeerderhout, in the middle of Almere's woods. In this nature reserve, you can go hiking, cycling and experience everything nature has to offer. In addition to the child-friendly campsite, there are plenty of activities to keep your kids entertained. See it with your own eyes!

Buitencentrum Almeerderhout
Buitencentrum Almeerderhout is the starting point for a day out: a visit to Stadslandgoed de Kemphaan and the woods around Almere. In and around the visitor centre you will find all kinds of activities around the theme 'Beavers'. Super fun to have done!

Lepelaarplassen
Along Oostvaardersdijk lies the extraordinary nature reserve: De Lepelaarplassen. It is a true bird paradise with more than three hundred bird species. Walk through the area by bike and spot birds from the observation huts. From the Lepelaar observation hut, you have a view of the Grote Plas and the surrounding forest. Put on your walking shoes and head out!

Oostvaardersplassen
Oostvaardersplassen is a large marshland area with reed beds, rough grasslands, water lakes, surrounded by forests: a true bird paradise of international value. In addition, Oostvaardersplassen offers various activities and excursions for young and old. Take a quick look at what there is to do in this nature reserve in the near future.

Kotterbos
The Kotterbos has numerous footpaths and a number of special clearings. You will be introduced to beautiful nature and at dawn and dusk, you can even come face to face with red deer in winter and spring.

Pampushout
Several recreational facilities can be found in this forest stretching between Almere Stad and Almere Poort. This is the habitat of buzzards, golden orioles, roe deer, hares and rabbits. Equestrian, hiking and cycling trails run through the park-like surroundings. In the seepage zone, the area between Pampushout and Lepelaarplassen, there are many birds to spot, such as the marsh harrier, the bearded reedling and many more.

Zuiderzee Speelbos
Come to Zuiderzee Zuiderzee Speelbos from Staatsbosbeheer and discover the world of water! The play forest consists of four play areas. At the water play area, you can mess about with water. There are little islands, a ferry and a half sunken ship.

Vroege Vogelbos
The Vroege Vogelbos ogelbos is one of the most beautiful walking areas and at the same time Almere's oldest. At the Schaapskooi, located at the beginning of the Vroege Vogelbos ogelbos, Stad & Natuur organises fun activities such as treasure hunts, workshops and much more!
