At the Kunstlinie Almere Flevoland (KAF) in Almere Centrum you will find cabaret, music, musical, opera, theater, dance and youth theater. KAF is known for its special architecture. The architecture was designed by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of the Japanese architectural firm SANAA following a competition among renowned architectural firms. The theater was opened in 2007 by Queen Beatrix. Did you know that the memorial stone that is placed in the floor of the center contains a Japanese haiku? It says: "Water glass and light - monument for imagination - in a new city". All exterior facades of the KAF consist of glass!
