Walk of Fame Almere tile 2023 for ice cream man Carlo Guida
The 50th tile of the Walk of Fame Almere features ice cream man Carlo Guida. Many Almere residents have fond memories of this ice cream man who drove through the city with his ice cream truck from 1986. In 2023, Carlo Guida passed away. During the voting round, it became clear that he was a beloved Almerean and deserves an honourable place in the Walk of Fame Almere. The new tile is in the Schutterstraat in Almere Centrum.
An independent jury, consisting of the children's mayor and representatives of volunteers, Rabobank Almere membership council, residents and entrepreneurs, compiled a top three from 239 entries. For the tile of the year 2023, the top three consisted of Almere City FC, ice cream man Carlo Guida and Shantykoor Almere.

Over 5,500 Almonds voted. More than half of the votes went to ice cream man Carlo Guida. In second place is Shantykoor Almere. The Shantykoor is a household name in Almere and the surrounding area. The Walk of Fame is a gift from Rabobank Almere to the municipality and residents of Almere to mark the city's 35th anniversary. Rabobank will donate a new tile every year until 2043.
