Oostvaardersplassen
Between Almere and Lelystad lies the extraordinary Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve, where nature sets the pace. The marshland is rich in various bird species and unique grazers. The area is part of National Park Nieuw Land and has parking places, cycling and walking paths.
You can take a break in the cosy pavilion at Natuurbelevingcentrum De Oostvaarders on the Almere side or at the Buitencentrum in Lelystad. In both visitor centres, binoculars are available for watching the animals in the nature reserve. Want to go out yourself? You can! Cycle around Oostvaardersplassen or walk the Hans Prins Route through the area.
