Lepelaarplassen
Along the Oostvaardersdijk lies the special nature reserve; the Lepelaarplassen. This area is named after the large colony of spoonbills that have lived here since the 1970s. It is a true bird paradise with over three hundred species of birds. The grebe, great egret, little grebe and cormorant have also been spotted here.
Walk among fields full of reeds, willow forests and brambles. Lepelaarplassen seems like another world with its beautiful nature full of ponds, reed beds and wet grasslands. Walk through the area or take a bike and spot birds from the observation huts. From observation hut the Lepelaar you have a view of the Grote Plas and the surrounding forest. Put on your walking shoes and set off!
