De Meridiaan play island is an impressive 1.5 hectares (that’s three football fields!) area in Almere Buiten where children (7 to 14) can play the day away with natural play equipment including trees, stones, water and soil!

The Almeerderhout woods form the largest forest in Almere. The lush green woods are home to goshawks, buzzards and deer. The Almeerderhout woods is the collective name for the Waterlandse Bos woods, the Cirkelbos woods and the Kathedralenbos woods.
The Vroege Vogelbos (Early Bird Woods) is near Almere Haven and is accessed by following Muidenweg and Farflerpad. Parking is available at Nestplaats (Nesting Site).

The Leeghwaterplas was named after 17th century hydraulic engineer Jan Adriaanszoon Leeghwater. The Leeghwaterplas is situated between the Hannie Schaft Park and the Waterwijk district.
