Like a transformer with a twisted base, the rectangular block stands at the edge of the Esplanade. The striking trapezoidal substructure forms the basis for the rectangular flat block. The tower's rotation and the sloping base make the high-rise special. The volumes of lower and upper buildings are 'morphed' together by means of a twisted intermediate section. Glass and aluminium panels have also been twisted where necessary.

The façade incorporates recessed loggias all around, which contribute to good climate control in the flats. The grey panels used to fence off the loggias feature patterns that refer to crocheted curtains. In the plinth, which accommodates a catering facility, the tower's massive supports are explicitly left in sight. The rotation of the building has been applied to maintain the line of sight from the highest point of the ground level, De Diagonaal, to het Weerwater 24. This is one of the qualities OMA has implemented in the city centre to introduce more dynamism and excitement into the shopping area. The combination of form, material and functionality makes this building an iconic part of the urban environment.
