The wall depicts a figure carrying a boat that recurs in a series of paintings Sjaak has made about Wieringen and the Zuiderzee. The figure is holding a lemmeraak, a sailing boat that sailed the Zuiderzee a lot. On the ship you see all kinds of people of different ages, referring to the different generations of Flevoland's inhabitants. Just like the figure holding the boat. So you have the history and beginnings of Flevoland up to the present day.

This artwork is part of the Street Art walking route through Almere Centrum.
