Almere, a young, vibrant city! A city designed on the drawing board and made by people with courage, guts and creativity. Here, people always colour outside the lines. World-renowned architects have helped create this new city wich is almost 50 years young. It is the architecture that graces the skyline, it is the street art that brings the streets to life, it is even nature that has its own artistic flair. Made with heart, it is a work of art!

World-famous architects

Walking through Almere Centrum you can be surprised by the world-famous architecture that can be found on every corner here. From the bold lines of the Kunstlinie to the waves of The Wave and the beautiful colours of La Defense. Each building tells its own unique story. Outside the city centre, too, you'll feast your eyes. In the Regenboogbuurt you will find several colourful houses that are very unique, such as the Rooie Donders. In Almere Poort, you will find a man-made dune landscape in the Duin neighbourhood. And in Oosterwold, residents themselves give colour to their homes and surroundings. Self-sufficient in a green environment with plenty of room for new ideas and initiatives.
