Rooie Donders, three red residential buildings that mark the transition from Almere's low-rise neighbourhoods to the polder. Their shape refers to industrial buildings and is reminiscent of grain silos.

Profiled steel sheets are framed in horizontal and vertical lines of set steel. The balconies are also encased in red, steel grids as are the railings, chimneys and window frames. Everything is red. This allows the buildings to evade 'traditional' housing and compete with the surrounding landscape. A footbridge marks the entrance. In a tight rhythm, the silhouette shifts to a narrower profile after seven floors. The wide base, which supports the body of the rising flats, contains eight dwellings that have the pleasure of a garden at ground level. Close to the Lage Vaart, they make optimal use of the water. The body of the building consists of three flats per layer. Penthouses form the narrow top of the buildings. The magnificent views over the polder and the orientation to the sun are their quality.
