Pinocchio (7+)

Pinocchio, like every child, starts out as an unwritten leaf - in her case, as an unwritten block of wood. But she has only just got legs or she abandons her father Geppetto and walks in seven locks at once.

Mrs van der Vos, Mr Kats and Mr Das become her friends, and have lovely, infectious stories. But can she trust these friends? She always has to choose: have fun and live a lazy life or be sensible and work hard? Tell a nice story or the ugly truth?

From her friends, Pinocchio learns the benefits of lying until she realises that she herself is being tricked too.
