Eetatelier: A city is (g)a forest

On Thursday 3 September is the fifth edition of the Eetatelier. This time at the Wolunie in Almere Haven.

A city is not a forest. But without a forest no city. In Almere's oldest forest, together with Jim and Marinke of Eet geworteld, we taste how Almere's nature can nourish us and, together with artist Jos van Nature Access, discover what happens when you look at the city through the eyes of the forest and why the two are not as far apart as you think.

About Eetatelier
Five decades, five eetateliers and endless stories about how Almere became what it is. From May to September 2026, Almeerse Weelde and Polder Parade will organise five neighbourhood dinners at special locations throughout Almere. Not a standard night out, but an evening about something. About good food, local crafts and people who make something of the city. During these evenings, everyone brings a freshly prepared meal and together we give shape to our travelling neighbourhood restaurant with a table that gets fuller, more surprising and tastier as more people join. All in honour of 50 years of Almere and 15 years of Almeerse Weelde.

From May 2026, every first Thursday of the month:

• At various locations throughout Almere
• Bring a homemade dish, drink or dessert
• Share, learn and be inspired by local residents
• Potlucks are there to share, joining costs you nothing.
