A psychiatrist talks directly to the voices. Who are they? Why are they there? What do they want? Step by step, an intense and careful journey unfolds in which confrontation and curiosity come together.

Director Maasja Ooms weaves the different stages of this journey into one mosaic: from initial resistance to gradual acceptance. The documentary offers a penetrating insight into the defence mechanisms of the human mind. What initially seems unbelievable and alienating gradually becomes recognisable and close.
