25 couples saying YES at the same time

Almere Municipality is organising a special wedding event. To celebrate 50 years of Almere, 25 couples (50 people) will be married or enter into a registered partnership together at the same time. Are you thinking of saying yes to this? Then read on!

You don't have to go big to feel big. You love each other. You want to make it official. Legally wed, as it is called. But without long speeches, without a strict script and without a huge budget. Just... beautiful, sincere and together.

Then a date catches your eye: 23 June 2026- a Tuesday afternoon when things are just a little different. On that day, 25 couples will say 'yes' to each other at the same time. Not in a standard setting, but at Vis-à-Vis in Almere Poort - a theatre location full of creativity, guts and conviviality.

What starts as a simple ceremony gets unexpectedly extra sparkle here. All the BABSs of Almere are present, the press watches and, as a festive conclusion, the mayor personally gives the final hammer blow. Together, with others who, like you, choose love over fuss.

For a small budget, a big moment is created. No excess, but atmosphere. No standard story, but a unique shared experience. Just enough to make it special - and just right for who you are.

Welcome to a ceremony that shows that simple has to be anything but ordinary.

Conditions

There is room for a maximum of 8 people per party. This number includes the bride and groom, witnesses and guests or children. You can bring a maximum of 4 witnesses per couple. Exceptions are not possible.

The ceremony will take place in Dutch or English. The joint plenary part is entirely in Dutch. Please note: there is no interpreter present. Do you, your partner or the witnesses not speak Dutch or English? Then participation is unfortunately not possible.

Own photographers stay at home: with 25 couples getting married, it would be too crowded. No worries, professional photographers will be present. Of course, your party is allowed to take photos with their mobile phones.

There will be press at the event. Please note that you may appear in photos for publicity purposes.

  • Pets are not allowed.

  • No confetti, rice or similar scattering material.

Participation costs €50 per person (€100 per couple).
This includes:
- ceremony
- coffee and sweets beforehand
- a glass of bubbles at the end for each party

The first 25 couples to register will be selected for participation. If a couple drops out, the next couple on the waiting list will qualify. After registration, we will make an appointment to pay at the counter of the city hall within two weeks. Registration means payment; after payment, participation is final. Due to the special nature of this event, refunds are not possible.

Programme of the afternoon

13.00 - 14.00: Entrance and walk-in with coffee and sweets
14.00 - 14.30: Word of welcome
15.00: Bridal couples and witnesses to their BABS for saying yes and signing the certificate
16.00: Plenary moment with hammer blow by the mayor and a joint photo
16.15 - 17.00: Bubbles and toasts
17.00 - 18.00: Bar open (at own expense)
