Vaartsluisbos
The Vaartsluisbos in Almere is known for its Poplars. The mixed Poplar forest covers a whopping 72 hectares. Go for a walk in this forest, and bring your dog along! The Vaartsluisbos is accessed by a shell bike path and there are a few benches and picnic sets. This makes it extra nice to go out for a few hours. Sport the Golden Oriole who lives in the tops of the tall trees. Besides poplars, you will also find tree species such as the sweet cherry, walnut and sweet chestnut.
The forest can be found between the Hoge Vaart and Lage Vaart canals and Almere's High Ring at Tjalkweg.
