City Walk Regenboogbuurt

The Regenboogbuurt, built between 1994 and 1998 and presented at the BouwRai 1994, is the most colourful neighbourhood in Almere, with many varied buildings and colours. For instance, you will find a pallet of colours from yellow de towerhouses to aquamarine-coloured semi-detached houses. This neighbourhood is inspired by the Berlin neighbourhoods of Bruno Taut, Onkel Toms Hütte and Hufeisensiedlung Britz.

The most famous buildings in the Regenboogbuurt are the Red Thunders, easily visible from the A6! The three bright red residential towers along the waterfront are a reference to the grain silos that used to be typical of the polder. Real eye-catchers! These special buildings were designed by Liesbeth van der Pol. She also designed Klein India in the Regenboogbuurt, which buildings you will also see during the walk. Curious? Book the Citywalk Regenboogbuurt with a guide and feast your eyes!
