In 2019, the wooden restaurant Culinair Festijn was realised at the entrance to Almere Buiten. A building on stilts, from the very solid wood laminate CLT. The staggered zigzag line of the roof folds over a large catering space and forms a striking façade image towards the nearby roundabout. The protruding unit where the entrance is located is kept open at the front and has an open staircase. Cars park under the restaurant. In 2023, two separate straight units with hotel rooms were added behind the restaurant. Part of the base building was also transformed for lodging. So, with a total of 330 rooms, a lot of people can stay at this budget hotel. The new buildings are constructed from prefabricated modules again from CLT. Both buildings have four floors. Each hotel room opens with double doors onto the galleries that surround the blocks. A courtyard garden has been laid out between the two straight new volumes and the 2019 structure situated diagonally on top of them. The whole looks like a facility that can provide people with long-term accommodation.
