Esplanade
The Esplanade is a peaceful square on het Weerwater in the centre of Almere. The square was renovated in 2019 by design firm Plein06, commissioned by the municipality.
Esplanade contributes to the greening of the city. This is a lovely place to take a break between shopping. Visitors come walking or cycling to enjoy the waterfront. The special grass on the carefully constructed ground makes the square perfect for festivals or other celebrations. The ground is equipped with a special watering system, making the grass look nice and green again within a few days.
The Lakeside, Kunstlinie and Leonardo Hotel can be found on the Esplanade.
