"With this work, Moniek shows an underwater world, a world not visible from the beach but possibly to be found in the water. Is there a treasure chest on the bottom, lost by the ship that once went down here? A diver walks by, is it from the submarine further down? The painting with the
marine animals and plants calls for awareness and care for nature.
The black and white stencils on display light up in the dark by using glow in the dark paint. These stencils were designed, printed and cut in advance, a technique Moniek uses more often for murals."
