In 2000, the Bosland Foundation started creating a Museumbos. A collection of forest rooms of one hectare each in het Cirkelbos between the Waterlandseweg and the Gooimeerdijk. Each spot was filled in by an artist, who developed a concept for it. There is Tempo by Boto van der Meulen; a room where a lime tree is planted every year for a hundred years, with a bottle between the roots with a message to the future. In Bos der Verandering by Ronald Buiting, shades of green will slowly be replaced by red. One of the most special places is Almere Boven. A thirty-metre-high hill, raised in tribute to the 'Godparents of Almere', the group of designers who defined Almere's character under director Dirk Frieling. A path spirals around the hill to the top. There are benches by Sajoscha Talirz and a floor on which artist Gijs Frieling had a poem by his father affixed. Climbers are rewarded with views over the rustling treetops of the city silhouette in the distance. Next Architects' plan Circle Path has not been implemented, even though a path of that name winds past the rooms.
