Landgoed Nobelhorst

Scala Architects designed the urban plan for the Nobelhorst district, Almere's village, based on the theme 'Estate'. To anchor the concept in the neighbourhood and provide context for the residents, a fictional genesis story for the landgoed Nobelhorst was written: the story of Hagobert. According to this story, Hagobert's old house disappeared in the waves of the Third Elizabeth Flood (19 November 1424). The lords of Nobel, from the retinue of Louis XIV, rebuilt the house in 1673. The manor house, along with tenant houses and a toll house, lies at the end of a stately driveway, Nobel Street. Along this avenue are the 'Coach Houses', consisting of 16 tenements and 13 houses for sale. The estate itself, located at the end of the driveway, comprises 53 houses and 16 flats. The completely symmetrically arranged building has a raised beletage as its base and is accessed by a wide staircase. The central risalite is crowned with a classical pediment and the southern wings have a small extension. At the rear, several balconies are placed and a balustrade is found on the surrounding guttering, giving the whole an elegant look.
