Hestia

Kasper Jongejan's work represents Flevoland's architecture translated into a graphic pattern. The shapes take their form from the contours of many buildings in Flevoland. In the foreground of this pattern is an image of Hestia, the Greek goddess of architecture and the hearth. Mythology says that a house is not a home until the hearth fire burns. Hence the text "Flevoland is home".

This artwork is part of the Street Art walking route through Almere Centrum.
