Slim Fit reinvigorates the concept of smaller living. It is an award-winning design of the BouwEXPO Tiny Housing, organised by the municipality in 2016. This urban dwelling occupies no more than the area of two parked cars and has a strong vertical character with an elegant appearance. A separate living environment has been created on each four-by-four-metre floor. The kitchen is on the ground floor, where a wide decking in front of the sliding door increases the living area. Above that, the living unit with a large window and, on the top floor, a small window reveals the function of the bedroom and bathroom. Each living level is lockable with a sliding door integrated in the stairwell. The use of wood contributes to a cosy atmosphere. The interior is finished with birch plywood and the exterior with ayous wood, placed vertically and fastened with countersunk screws. The concept focuses on small-scale living and densification. This neighbourhood, with its playful, compact subdivision and small footprint, reflects this well. The diversity of the other tiny houses contributes to a special streetscape.
