International School
Almere Poort is home to the International School, a school for pupils aged 11 to 18. The design is adapted to the elongated park by low, pavilion-like buildings where cars are out of sight. Safety and control of pupils is important worldwide, which is why they are not allowed to leave the school grounds until they are sixteen. A solution was found to this, namely to build on the plot completely with the schoolyard over the full area on top.

The spacious square with wide views has a basketball cage and 3 freely placed pavilions. Here you will find classrooms, the media library and the gymnasium. The layout has created an open and safe feeling where there is plenty of light. There is a structure of streets and squares, making it resemble an Italian village. It is an adventurous building.
