The design was inspired by its surroundings. The woman depicted symbolises the beauty of the city of Almere. Her locks, the growth of Almere, have a reach as far as the eye can see. The patterns incorporated in the hair give an impression of the dunes.A high contrast was chosen between the image and the background. As a result, the cottage lights up in its surroundings, and when the sky turns purple on a beautiful summer evening, the cottage actually blends into its surroundings."
