Hard Glas, De Fantasie
The poison-green house Hard Glass is a house made of prefabricated sheet metal on a steel support structure, held stable on a plane of stelcon plates surrounded by willows. Two steps lead to caravan doors with a pane of glass. At the front, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom lie in an enclosed strip two metres wide. The living space beyond feels very spacious and is surrounded on three sides by tempered glass. A floating terrace makes the space feel spacious. Thus, in an area of only eight by eight metres, an optimal result has been achieved. When the house was extended in 1991 with a 48m² extension, it became a villa. One of the architects, Jan Benthem, lived there with his family until 2009. After that, the house was occupied by artist couple Fransje Killaars and Roy Villevoye.
