The skeleton of the house is formed by four buckled steel H-beams. The roof consists of two double planes rising like wings. The gutter lies in the centre of these and has a detached drain. The façade appears to be an eclectic collection of materials held in context by a wide moulding of aluminium. From 2004, the architect, who designed it as a residential house, kept only offices here. He moved his residence to Project X, located on the neighbouring plot. The first attempt to build a house there, by Henk Tilder and Theo van Halewijn, In Vitro, collapsed under pressure from the elements, after which neighbour Van Zuuk was able to buy and demolish the ruin. The new Project X consists of a half-sunken block of anthracite-coloured concrete, with a box perpendicular to it, clad in grey cement fibre boards, into which a pattern of leaves has been milled. The feather-light Psyche and the minimalist sculptural architecture Project X blend wonderfully.
