Baders
A little more time is needed to get to the bottom of Gijs Frieling's large mural. Its official name is 'Baders', but it is also known as 'The Ideal City'. In the centre, you recognise a pool of water with a bathing woman. All sorts of people and animals have gathered around it. Among other things, you can see a campfire, clothes hung over branches to dry, and two scooters in the top right. Gijs Frieling lived on the Kerkgracht during his childhood. His father was urban planner Dirk Frieling, one of the founders of Almere.
