The competition 'Design your dream house', organised to mark the 25th anniversary of the children's programme Het Klokhuis, attracted 1,200 entries. Children turned out to be very concerned with climate, environment and sustainability. What should the outside look like? How do you want to sleep, eat, and play? The five winners worked together with architect Jord den Hollander on a model incorporating their ideas, resulting in a pink cake presented on a hand. Construction was followed weekly on television. Their designs included sleeping under the sea, looking at the stars through the water in the 'Opsekopse huisje', a toilet that flushes with rainwater, and a kitchen in the shape of a snail, because slow cooking is better than fast food. A slide outside illustrates the workings of gravity, and a round HR+++ glass façade that can be unfolded like a harmonica takes you to the balcony, which is exactly at 0 metre NAP.
