Hestia
Bolhuis was approached to design a sculpture for the Uithof with the brief that the work should relate to the new residents but also pay homage to the site's past. This is where the first homes of asylum seekers in Almere were located. Hestia is the Greek goddess of the hearth and hospitality. The veil is her symbol.
