Within easy reach of the city, you’re there in no time! You can eat pancakes in the restaurant here, watch the monkeys at the sanctuary, safely climb in trees or stay in deluxe accommodation. This country estate offers you all the natural products you can think of from a real city farm and there’s an adventurous campsite located in its own piece of nature. With so much to see and do, it’s the ‘natural’ destination for a great day out! Kids can play to their hearts' content in the Zuiderzee play woods, climb to the tree tops at Fun Forest, and eat delicious pancakes at the Dubbel-Op restaurant. You can also set off on a hike with a forest ranger, explore the jungle garden, stroll around the organic farmers' market or watch the monkeys at Stichting AAP sanctuary and rescue centre.

De Kemphaan country estate lies in the Forestry Commission's Almeerderhout in Almere. This area of natural beauty is the perfect place to walk, cycle and enjoy all the good things nature has to offer. Along with the child-friendly campsite there are an abundance of activities guaranteed to absorb your kids, including the Fun Forest where you can climb trees, a city farm - home to a full range of farm animals and open to the public, and the Buitengewoon Lekker restaurant in the woods too. The estate also has a section set aside for The AAP Foundation (Stichting AAP), a monkey sanctuary where you will be enthusiastically greeted by groups of baboons and apes.

De Kemphaan is the ideal spot for family days out, children's parties, school trips, company outings or even a romantic weekend away. The estate is free to visit and open all year round. The opening times of our various partners differ, and these can be found on their individual web pages. Dogs are of course also welcome in this wonderful slice of nature, but please keep them on a lead to prevent any nuisance.
