In 1998, the Netherlands became acquainted with Jörgen Raymann, who by then already enjoyed world star status in Suriname. He has not been on stage for a while, but this year, the race entertainer turns 60, a milestone he reinforces with 'BIG YARI: Welcome home, where no one is waiting for you'.
In 'BIG YARI' - Surinamese for crown year - he tells the story of Mister Lasmibalsingh, a Dutch Surinamese who wants to return to his country after forty years. There, he soon finds out that he is a Surinamese all over the world, except in Suriname. There, people see him as a 'tata' anyway, so how welcome is he at home?
