Digger
Digger is directed by the leading Oscar-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu, whose previous films include The Revenant, Babel and Amores Perros. In his new film, Cruise plays Digger, a flamboyant billionaire for whom power, ego, denial and self-promotion are virtually indistinguishable. The resemblance to Donald Trump is hard to miss: in Digger’s world, boundless self-confidence, denial and a messiah complex go hand in hand with glee. Alejandro G. Iñárritu turns it into a frenzied black comedy about a time when the very people who cause the problems are only too happy to present themselves as our saviours.
