'BLUEZWART' is a musical monologue about seventeen ways a man tries to return to himself. You follow a young man who makes seventeen crossings to Curaçao. Seventeen times he braves the ocean, seventeen times he arrives and leaves again. Each trip is an attempt to come to grips with who he was, who he is and who he wants to become. In this performance, writer and performer Gershwin Bonevacia shows that coming home sometimes means daring to leave, that fleeing may be a form of searching and that to heal you must dare to lose. He previously made the wonderful, five-starred 'Back to Prinsenplein': "Bonevacia's stories sometimes flow smoothly into music and spoken word, and then lead back to his monologue just as naturally. His storytelling enchants." (NRC *****)
The press about his previous performance 'Back to Prinsenplein':
NRC *****:
"Bonevacia's stories sometimes flow smoothly into music and spoken word, and then lead back to his monologue just as naturally. His storytelling enchants. His beautiful readings and the content of his stories make it impossible to step back into the rain unfazed."
Theatre newspaper:
"Both the lyrics and the setting are breathtaking."
