Join this intensive four-day watercolour painting course for intermediate artists, designed especially for those who already have some experience with watercolours and wish to further develop their skills, gain more confidence and learn to paint with greater awareness.
Over four consecutive days, you’ll get to grips with key watercolour techniques, including colour mixing, tonal values, composition, transparency, layering, washes, edges, brushwork, light and depth. Through demonstrations, targeted exercises, guided painting sessions and personalised feedback, you’ll improve your technique and learn to better understand how to make conscious and creative choices in your work.
The course focuses on painting from observation and building up well-considered compositions. You will learn how to analyse a subject, simplify shapes and colours, create convincing light and shade, and build up a painting step by step. Particular attention is paid to mastering washes, combining transparent layers, creating soft and hard edges, maintaining clarity and achieving depth, whilst preserving the fresh and spontaneous character of watercolour.
During the course, you’ll work on various studies and create one or more finished watercolour paintings, whilst receiving personalised guidance and feedback throughout the process.
Led by Luna Nguyen, the course combines classical painting principles with a modern and personalised teaching method. With a maximum of 6–8 participants, each student receives plenty of personal attention and individual feedback.
