GO AWAY (5 to 12 years)

In WEG ERMEE, four acrobats fall from the sky out of the blue and end up in the middle of a rubbish dump, among old stuffed animals, broken toasters and empty bottles - stuff nobody wants anymore. Like those items, they too have been cast aside. In this visual, wordless performance, the acrobats discover that discards are often still bursting with potential.

With spectacular acrobatics, humour and a good dose of imagination, together they build a new, colourful world out of everything others have thrown away. They discover that not only objects, but also people deserve a second chance. The acrobats show that being different is not a weakness, but a strength. And that sustainability needs to be far from boring.

WEG ERMEE is a circus theatre performance for everyone aged 5 to 12 - an adventurous story about working together, recycling and the art of starting over. Because what you first see as rubbish can just be the start of something very special.

About WIRWAR Productions WIRWAR Productions is the circus theatre company of theatre producer Laura van Hal. WIRWAR creates professional circus theatre performances for children of primary school age (5-12) and their (grand)parents.... The performances are dynamic, exciting, humorous and wordless. Laura van Hal is a pioneer within the 'New Circus' in the Netherlands. By combining acrobatics with dance and mime, she gives a deeper meaning to spectacular acrobatic tricks. With her appealing, energetic theatre language, Laura involves a young audience in recognisable, social issues without using words.

The press about previous performances by WIRWAR "With KLAS, circus theatre producer Laura van Hal delivers her best performance yet - a poetic critique of how children who learn in different ways are put into the same educational straitjacket." - Theaterkrant about KLAS

"Van Hal is not afraid to make the pain and vulnerability palpable in the audience, though she always alternates it with breathtaking circus tricks and physical humour." - Theaterkrant about HOKJE

Fringe programme Prior to the performance, families can take part in a plastic hunt around the theatre. During this activity, participants search for litter together and discover in a playful and direct way what care can mean for their environment. The plastic hunt and accompanying quiz make up one activity.
