Het Parool called him the "biggest cabaret surprise of this season", the halls were full and he received a Neerlands Hoop nomination. 'RÜDSICHTSLOS' is also a hit. NRC gave it five stars, urgently advising: "Go see it for yourself." In it, Ruud catapults his elastic body across the stage to shoot his absurd thoughts into the audience with unprecedented speed and energy. He wonders how much we love ourselves and what happens when we dare to do so more.
The audience also gets to see Ruud's vulnerable, honourable side. That of a quiet, reflective guy who not only provides a sharp life lesson, but who at moments subtly grabs your hand and takes you into his world of madness. In doing so, he not only turns his gaze inwards, but also looks sharply at the world around him.
