Japan, 1930s-40s. Suzu is a gentle young woman with a talent for drawing and daydreaming. Welcome to Treasure Town. A town with a certainje ne sais quoi, a kind ofnever-never land. In this feverish, metropolitan environment, we follow Black and White. The two orphans wander through the surreal asphalt jungle.
In the distant future, humanity effortlessly traverses the universe. Immortality is up for grabs, as one can transfer one's consciousness to a mechanical body. Across infinity runs a legendary train: the Galaxy Express 999.
The machines' home planet may have been destroyed, but the battle continues unabated. Earth, meanwhile, has turned into a pile of rubble, where the resistance is on its last legs. Still, young Tetsure clings to the hope of one day seeing his beloved Maetel again... And suddenly, there shines the Galaxy Express in the sky.
When university student Hana falls in love with a mysterious young man, she discovers he is the last of his kind: a wolf who can transform into a human and vice versa. Together they start a beautiful little family, until Hana is suddenly left alone with their two wolf children.
