Dachshund

"Dear audience, Dachshund is a performance about a word we can't use, otherwise you won't come. At least, we think so, because all books, films and performances that deal with *abuse* studiously avoid the word on the back cover or in the pub text, otherwise no one will be interested. So we follow their lead, because we need a story and really need someone to listen. That's why Dachshund is about Stanley Kubrick, Wicked the musical and which dog breeds are or are not fun. Nothing else. Promise.

" Dachshund is a blistering monologue that, following Gisèle Pelicot, puts the shame back on the perpetrator. It also puts the shame on the bystanders, who make the choice to look away. Accompanied by teenage music from the 2010s, two lawyers, and a number of everyday heroes that cannot be underestimated, a young woman wrestles with the question: if you are carrying a story that no one wants to listen to, what do you do? Content note: In Dachshund, the main character takes us on a searching journey through her experiences of child sexual abuse. She mainly describes her present, the effects she is experiencing as a now adult woman, but several times the abuse itself is described. Drugging the victim also plays a role in that abuse. An attempted suicide is also discussed, which the character ultimately does not go through with.
