Exhibition: Artist in residence - Jet Leopold
Jet Leopold (born 1996) is an interdisciplinary artist with a background in visual therapy. Jet's artistry is social and expresses the tension between the experience of the individual and the collective human experience. His work exists at the intersection between psychology, philosophy and spirituality, to which expression is given through a wide range of art forms. An Almere-raised artist whose first 'real' exhibition some 14 years ago was also at De Nieuwe Bibliotheek, and who is now artistically researching existence from Berlin.
My residency series for the library is about how this place creates connection. The city's living room is a place where so many different people come together for many different reasons. I see the library as an incredibly important link in society, this series tells a story about how that feels.
