Neighbourhood meeting Sundayhof
Saturday 29 August was the big day: the Zondaghof neighbourhood party! With no fewer than 65 attendees, it was a lovely day full of activities, delicious food and, of course, lots of fun.
Although no rain had been forecast, the organisers decided to switch to Plan B just to be on the safe side. In consultation with the letter, De Springer from Almere-Buiten, the bouncy castle was swapped for an extra marquee at the last minute. This meant there was plenty of space for the children to enjoy face painting, painting T-shirts and playing together in the marquee.
The adults weren’t forgotten either. &Wine from Almere-Haven organised an extensive wine tasting, where guests could sample seven different wines from across Europe.

At around 6.00 pm, it was time to sit down to dinner. Toko Kampoeng from Tussen de Vaarten provided a delicious Indonesian meal. And after dinner, the party was far from over, as something special was in store: cake! To mark Almere’s 50th anniversary, Vinny’s Bakery from Muziekwijk had created a stunning bespoke cake.
After that, it was time for even more fun and music. The evening ended on a festive note with a lively ‘Hitster neighbourhood competition’, in which four teams competed against one another. Team 2 ran away with the win by a comfortable margin, but ultimately, of course, the evening was all about being together.
At around 9.00 pm, a successful neighbourhood party drew to a close and all 65 participants headed home feeling satisfied after a convivial and festive day. A lovely look back at a day when the neighbourhood came together to celebrate Almere’s 50th anniversary!
