Almere Time Machine Experience 'a trip to memory lane'

In this interactive installation, you step onto a special bicycle that does not let you move forward or backward, but lets you rotate 360 degrees through time. While staying in the same place, you cycle through Almere's past, as it were. Around you are nine detailed dioramas: miniature worlds that bring to life lost places, special events and iconic moments from the past 50 years.

Some dioramas have an open back, allowing you to look through the past into today's Almere. And that makes the experience extra special: in those places, real activities are organised that tie in with the theme.

Locations & dates

The time machine will appear at various events in Almere. So far, the following moments are known:

• Monday 25 May - Festival Spot - Natuurbelevingcentrum de Oostvaarders
• Saturday 6 June - Podium Oosterwold - Oosterwold
• Sunday 7 June - VMCA volunteer festival - The Vroege Vogelbos
• Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June - Almere Speelt - Almeerderstrand

Sustainable & Accessible

The Time Machine was built with care and attention:

• The materials used are recycled and circularly produced.
• Upon completion, the installation will be given a new purpose, ensuring the project has a lasting impact.
• Visitors are encouraged to come by bike or public transport.
