Frans Vera Trail
The Frans Vera Path takes you on a walk through the Oostvaardersbos, offering views over the Oostvaardersplassen. The path is marked in green and is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Tip: bring a snack and have a picnic along the way. There are plenty of benches along the route.
The Frans Vera Path takes you along the edge of the grassy area. The vastness of the ‘ Oostvaardersplassen ’ is clearly evident here. From the banks, you’ll have a fantastic view of the open meadows and you might even spot one of the large grazers. The walk also takes you past a former fox den. More than 40 foxes live in the ‘ Oostvaardersplassen ’. They are best known for their beautiful, thick orange fur. Dogs are not allowed in this section.
The path is named after Frans Vera, a biologist and conservationist who was involved, amongst other things, in the nature conservation project at the ‘ Oostvaardersplassen ’.
