Hertenpad walking route
Discover the Hertenpad through the Oostvaardersbos in Flevoland. The Hertenpad offers a glimpse into the ‘ Oostvaardersplassen ’ and lets you experience nature at first hand. At 2 kilometres, it’s just the right length for a lovely stroll through Nieuw Land National Park. And why is it called the Hertenpad? Well, you might just spot a red deer roaming here.
You can easily park your car or bike at the Hugo de Vriesplaats car park on Huge de Vriesweg. To follow the Hertenpad, simply follow the yellow markings once you’re there.
Parts of the Oostvaardersbos serve as a resting area for red deer in winter. The area is therefore not accessible to walkers, meaning this walk is temporarily closed. An announcement regarding the closure can be found on the forest rangers’ blog at Oostvaardersplassen. Dogs are not permitted in this woodland.
