When the original 2004 design was no longer satisfactory, Schipperplein was transformed in 2013 into a greening oasis, an undulating landscape, with improved residential quality. New ornamental plantings on raised borders surround a pond/skating rink, which was inlaid with new bamboo boardwalks. In summer it is a green jewel, in winter a fun ice rink.

On the street side, the rectangular retail space next to the pop hall has a glass front with coloured glass, which harmonises with the brand logos of the electronics sold there. The transparent overhang creates a sense of security at street level. Opposite is an activity centre, with a facade consisting of a pink surface and a glass section. This housed a bowling alley and a bar. The narrow windows in the pink plane give the façade a sleek, graphic look. The back is clad in patinated copper. Now Almere Gym is located at Schipperplein, with a nice view of the lively architecture.

The activity centre's glass box has sloping rebates. This is continued in the upper restaurant area, which is finished with brown strip material. A bicycle shed with a floating roof and an office building clad in red tiles complete the ensemble.
